NBIF – Helping People in Need

Vision Statement

The founders of the NBIF created a vision for the NBIF. That vision guides
the actions and activities of the NBIF today. The founders' vision was:
The National Brain Injury Foundation was established with one simply
stated aim:
To care for and to assist those with Acquired Brain Injury
and their families.
Caring is intended to take many forms including:
- the extension of love, friendship and compassion to those the Foundation
serves;
- the provision of appropriate accommodation and support for those
who need it;
- encouragement and assistance of those with ABI to achieve their
maximum potential;
- support for families through the provision of
- a sympathetic and understanding ear;
- a meeting place for carers to share experiences and provide
mutual support;
- respite services for carers.
The Foundation is to assist by:
- providing advice on, or access to, health care and legal services,
and rehabilitation therapy;
- undertaking lobbying activities and advocacy on behalf of its client
group;
- promoting and assisting research into the treatment of ABI;
- raising public awareness of the needs of those with ABI.
In serving those who seek its help, the guiding principle of the Foundation
is that its members should at all times provide understanding, compassionate
and loving care.
